‘Improv Fundamentals’ Class June ‘25

Dive into your creative side with this 8 week course for new improvisers.

Our highly experienced teacher Greg Lavell guides you into a world of spontaneity and improvisation. You’ll explore characters and stories, how to be funny (without trying) and more. This course will help you think on your feet, collaborate with new (fun) people. and express the creative you!

Grow Confidence, Naturally 
Each session builds comfortably on the last, helping you find your voice and trust your instincts in a low-pressure setting.

A Habit of Play 
Carve out a weekly space just for you. Discover how the skills of listening, collaboration, and "yes, and" can bring more joy to everything.

Showcase for friends
After 8 weeks, you’ll do an (optional) short performance showcase for friends and family, where you’ll put your new confidence and skills into practice.

Greg Lavell has taught and performed theatre and comedy improv since 2010. He’s worked as director, performer and musician throughout Melbourne’s improv scene, in companies such as Impro Melbourne, Impromptunes, The Improv Conspiracy, and The Big Hoo-Haa. He won a Green Room Award in 2024 for his improv work in Cabaret Unscripted. Greg has taught improv and musical improv across Australia and is the founder of Melbourne Unscripted.

His teaching style is warm, encouraging, and grounded in playful exploration. He aims to help students unlock creativity while feeling safe and supported
